Formation and Values

At COJ, formation is not an extra program alongside academics. It is at the heart of our educational mission.

Children are being formed every day—by relationships, expectations, habits, and examples. We believe schools have a responsibility to shape this formation intentionally, helping children grow into persons of integrity, compassion, and responsibility.

Our formation is clearly Christian and deeply human. Faith is not confined to a subject area or occasional activity. It is lived out in daily interactions: how people treat one another, how conflicts are resolved, how truth and fairness are practiced, and how care for others is encouraged.

Children learn values most deeply through experience. When they are guided to act with kindness, honesty, and respect, these qualities gradually become part of who they are. Formation happens quietly, consistently, and over time.

COJ was founded in partnership with Ang Ligaya ng Panginoon, a Catholic community with a long tradition of evangelization and discipleship. This partnership has shaped the school’s understanding of formation as something lived, not merely taught.

In this tradition, faith formation is not about withdrawing from the world, but about preparing young people to engage it wisely and compassionately. Students are encouraged to develop conscience, discernment, and a sense of purpose—qualities that help them make good choices in an increasingly complex world.

Our vision is to form leaders—not in the sense of position or prestige, but in character. Leaders who think clearly, act justly, and care deeply for others. Leaders whose faith informs how they live, learn, and serve.
