EARLY
YEARS

The early years of childhood are a time of extraordinary growth. During these years, children form the foundations not only of learning, but of confidence, emotional security, and character.

At COJ, our Early Years program is designed to honor how young children naturally learn. Children at this stage learn best through experience—through play, exploration, conversation, and guided activity. Learning is joyful, purposeful, and carefully structured.

Teachers plan activities that introduce language, early literacy, numeracy, and thinking skills in ways that are meaningful and engaging. Routines provide children with a sense of safety and order, while varied activities help them develop curiosity, focus, and independence.

Small class sizes allow teachers to give close attention to each child. Children are guided patiently as they learn to express

themselves, work with others, and manage emotions. Mistakes are treated as opportunities to learn, helping children develop confidence and resilience.

Formation in the Early Years is gentle and natural. Children are introduced to Christian values through daily life—through gratitude, kindness, care for others, and simple moments of prayer and reflection. Faith is experienced as something comforting and life-giving, not abstract or forced.

Parents often wonder whether a progressive early education prepares children for later schooling. We believe it does—by forming children who are eager to learn, able to focus, comfortable with structure, and confident in themselves.

The Early Years at Cradle of Joy are about building strong roots. When these foundations are well laid, children are prepared not only for the next academic level, but for a lifelong love of learning and growth.
